2 ways to start a question
1) Using a question word:
Who – What – Where – Why – Which – When –  Whom – How
What is your mother’s name? When will Julie arrive at the airport? Where is my phone? Whose car is this?

2) Using an auxiliary verb (hulpwerkwoord):
Do – Be – Have
Are we happy? Do you like this very much? Has she really lost her mind?

What is a question tag?
“een kleine bijzin aan het einde van een zin die maakt dat de zin een vraag wordt.”

Examples: 
 “You are from Ethiopia, aren’t you?
“ We won’t lose, will we?”

If the statement is positive, we use a negative question tag

“ Your mother has lived here her entire life, hasn’t she?”
“You work here, don’t you?”
