California teen Anand Chandra created a new chores app: Chorely. With

Chorely, you can check whether someone in your neighbourhood has

posted (paid) odd jobs. You can also offer your (paid) services yourself.

A remark from a family member inspired Anand to build the app. The

process took longer than expected, but luckily, Chorely was launched

just before the new school year. Anand will continue working on app

programming projects.

Wat is denk je de regel van de presn continuous? Hoe maak je deze vorm?

Write down in your notebook:

Present continuous:

Vorm: to be (am, are, is) + ww-ing

Voorbeeld: She is calling her friend.

Je mag bij de present continuous de verkorte vormen van am, is, are gebruiken. (’m,’s,’re)

Let op!

Soms moet je wanneer je -ing achter een werkwoord zet ook de spelling veranderen.

to have --> I'm having lunch

to give --> She’s not giving up.

Bij een werkwoord dat eindigt op een -e, vervalt die -e!

Let op!

to get --> we’re getting ready

to sit --> I’m sitting next to him.

Wanneer een werkwoord met één lettergreep eindigt

op één klinker + medeklinker, verdubbelt deze

medeklinker wanneer je –ing toevoegt (zie voorbeeld).

Wanneer gebruiken we de Present Continuous?

2. Voor iets dat nu, op dit moment aan de gang is
3. Voor feiten en gewoontes
4. Voor de toekomende tijd
