The Time Machine

  1. The novel is set in England in the 1890s, in the year AD 802,701, and more than 30 million years in the future.
  2. It takes place in and around London.
  3. Technology is rudimentair, the Industrial Revolution has just started, people are afraid of the future. The Time Traveller built a Time Machine.
  4. London society: Upper class and Lower class. In 802.701: Eloi and Morlocks.

  2. It is set in 1998 
  3. Lunar base, some sort of helicopters but most of all: robots!
  4. Humans and Robots live together, based on robotic laws.

Robotic Laws
1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

b. Where? London and Surrey (English countryside)
c. The technology? Spaceships, robotic aliens, heat-rays
d. Society? Martians' world - very advanced in maths, far more intellectial that humans. Planet is dying.
Human world - we are lowly aliens to martians, not advanced but living on a triving planet.
