Storyline

Out-of-work actor Daniel will do anything for his kids. After losing custody in a messy divorce, he tries to find a way to stay part of his children's lives. 

When his ex-wife Miranda puts an add in the paper to hire a nanny, Daniel doesn't hesitate to act. Together with his brother, a make-up artist, he turns himself into the best nanny Miranda could ever wish for, the Scottish nanny "Euphegenia Doubtfire"...

Storyline

The plan works! Scottish nanny "Euphegenia Doubtfire", who is in fact Daniel, is hired by Miranda! Now Daniel can be with his children every day, despite having lost custody. 

However, as the persona of Mrs. Doubtfire starts to take on its own life, Daniel learns some important life lessons about love & family, and about how to be a better father to his kids.

Divorce and separation

• Divorce can be a good thing > Daniel has to let go of Miranda, even though he still loves her a lot. He needs to do this for his own children's sake, who are now the victim of his failed marriage. 

• We are stonger than we think > Daniel feels devastated at first, but finds a way to deal with these feelings. In the end, he starts feeling OK again.

Transformation

• People change > because of being Mrs. Doubtfire, Daniel changes into a better father for his kids. Throughout the story, he also becomes a better man in general, letting go of his bitterness and anger.
  
• Honesty is the best policy > at first Daniel doesn't care about lying to be with his kids; later he realizes this was wrong and accepts the divorce.

Transformation

• Enjoy the little moments > due to the divorce, Daniel realizes how precious his time with his children is, and therefore should enjoy that time more.

• A parent’s love knows no limits > Daniel will do absolutely anything for his kids, even dressing up as an elderly, female nanny in order to spend more time with them.
• As long as you know love, you'll have a family in your heart > even though Daniel and Miranda are divorced and are no longer living together, the children are still loved by both of them. They will always be able to count on their family.
