In de Engels les: probeer zoveel mogelijk Engels te praten.

Op tijd, later dan kom je er niet meer in.

Respectful: 

• Hand opsteken als je een vraag hebt.
  
• Tassen van de tafel, telefoons wil ik niet zien.
  
• eten, kauwgum en naar de wc mag niet, water drinken wel.

Communicate!

 We houden ons aan de afspraken die we met elkaar maken, als we over de streep gaan, praten we daarover. Communiceer met mij.

Ik ben bereikbaar via Teams en Magister berichten. Op woensdag ben ik vrij dus niet bereikbaar weekend ook niet. 

Wat verwacht ik van jullie?

• Laptop en map altijd mee + examenbundel nu ook! 
• Je houdt je huiswerk bij, gebeurt dit niet en ben je dit te vaak vergeten dan kom je na om werk in te halen. 
• Je zit in je eindexamen jaar dus zorg dat je je huiswerk bijhoudt, je naar je examentraining gaat, HDT lessen en bijles eventueel als je dit hebt. 

How do you prepare for the listening/watching exam?

How to practice? 

• Practice listening at A2/B1  level in Holmwoods
• Practice listening/watching in Woots. You can also practice at skilllevel 1-3
• Watch a lot of Netflix series like: The Crown (without subtitles or with English subtitles), Planet Earth, Topboy, The documentary about David Beckham

How to practice? 

• Watch BBC News, Al Jazeera, CNN 
• BCC Newsround: https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround
• Listen to english videos at least 15 minutes a day. You can do this in the gym, on public transport, etc. 
• Make sure you practice with the British accent. 

watching strategies

• underline the important words in the answers that indicate what the answer is really about. 
• If you doubt between two answers: ask yourself which answer was mostly present in the fragment? What is it really about and what is a detail?
• look for synonyms. Sometimes a synonym of a word in the answers is used in the video. 

watching strategies

• vertaal de vraag voor jezelf naar het Engels dus bijvoorbeeld: "Wat vragen archeologen zich af....?" -> dan kan er een woorden komen als "they question" / "they puzzle" 
•  het woord "hoogte" is belangrijk in de vraag -> wat is de Engels vertaling dan?
