Present continuous 

We use present continuous for arrangments with people.

These appoiments can be noted in your dairy.

The events could theoretically change

Examples

1. I'm meeting Abi at the concert at 8 p.m.
2. My family and I are flying to spain next week.
3. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow.

Present simple

We use present simple for scheduled or timetabled events.

These events can't be changed
