Waarom leesstrategieën toepassen tijdens het lezen van teksten?

Voorspellen inhoud en controle of dit klopt
 vragen stellen tijdens lezen  check of het begrepen is of jezelf wat afvragen (mening/bedoeling schrijver?).
Eigenschappen goede lezer:
Gebruikt meerdere leesstrategieën tegelijk.
Kan leesproblemen zelfstandig oplossen door strategieën te gebruiken

Infereren:

Een schrijver geeft nooit alle informatie, maar laat aan de lezer over de feiten uit een tekst te gebruiken om een compleet beeld van de tekst te vormen. Hiervoor gebruikt de lezer zowel de feiten in de tekst als de eigen achtergrondkennis. Door deze te verbinden maak je inferenties en geef je als lezer extra betekenis aan een tekst. Wanneer je deze leesstrategie kunt toepassen kun je nog beter tot tekstbegrip komen. Met het maken van inferenties wordt ook wel tussen de regels door lezen bedoeld. Dit omdat je de informatie niet expliciet uit de tekst haalt, maar impliciet. Hiervoor gebruik je de aanwijzingen in een tekst.

  • Wat zou de schrijver bedoelen?
  • Wat wil de schrijver bereiken met de tekst?
  • Wil hij iedereen ergens van overtuigen?

  • Waarom geeft hij voorbeelden?  ter verduidelijking?
  • Wat wil de schrijver benadrukken met bepaalde informatie die hij geeft? Bijvoorbeeld als er percentages gegeven worden.
