Wat is de standaard formule om een meervoudsvorm (plural) in het Engels te maken?

Welke 5 spellingsuitzonderingen zijn er?

Welke woorden hebben hun eigen meervoudsvorm?

Plurals

Gebruik: om aan te geven dat iets meervoud is

. 

Standaard formule:  woord + s                       dog / dogs

Uitzonderingen:

1. Woord eindigt op medeklinker + y = -y veranderd in -ies             bunny - bunnies       boy - boys

2. Woord eindigt op een -s geluid = + es                                                  dress - dresses

3. Woord eindigt op een medeklinker + o = +es                                    tomato -tomatoes

4. Woord eindigt op F/Fe = -F/Fe wordt -ves                                           leaf - leaves

 

Let op! We gebruiken nooit 's in het Engels om meervoud aan te geven!

Schrijf alles op wat je nog weet van de Present Simple

Present Simple

Gebruik: altijd, nooit of regelmatig + feiten

Signaalwoorden: Always, never, sometimes, usually, regularly, every week, sometimes, hardly ever, etc.

+: stam + (s)                                              I always walk to school.

-: don't/doesn't + stam                        I don't always walk to school.

?: Do/Does + onderwerp + stam      Do I always walk to school?

Spellingsuitzonderingen (alleen bij he/she/it):
1. Go -> Goes                   3. Eindigt het woord met een -s klank = +es                            Watch -> Watches

2. Do -> Does                  4. Eindigt het woord met een medeklinker + -y = +ies         Try -> Tries

Short Answers

Gebruik: om beleefd antwoord te geven.

Vorm: yes/no, persoonlijk voornaamwoord + herhalen hulpwerkwoord

VB.       Have you got the camera?        Yes, I have

              Does he know the answer?       No, he doesn't

Hulpwerkwoorden:

- Vormen van to be              - Vormen van to do                 -could/couldn't

- Vormen van have               - can/cannot
