Practice for literature test in 5H

Introduction to Literary Terms

• Read the explanation of the literary term assigned to your group.
• Discuss with your group what the term means. 
• Explain it to the group in Dutch. 
• Do not translate, use your own words.

• Divide the first 4 topics in the Theory part of the reader among the groups. Have students read the explanation and discuss among themselves what it means. Have them explain it in their own words in English/or Dutch to the class
• Have students take notes
• Make links to the short story when every possible
• Alternative: Discuss 1-2 topics at the beginning of each class; everyone reads the same one

What is the title of the story we started to read in class?

1. The Night Owl
2. The bridge is down at the creek
3. Something happened during the war
4. An Occuurence at Owl Creek Bridge

Test to see if students have actually looked at the title. Get students to use their reader. Check for comprehension for the word "Occurrence". Good readers pay attention to the title and can explain its significance.
