Present Perfect Continuous: What is it and when do we use it?

It's one of the more complex tenses.

It is a combination between a perfect tense and a continuous tense.

Present perfect
Subject + have/has + past participle

She has lost her keys and can find them anymore
I've worked  at this company for twenty years now.
They have seen that move in the cinema already.

  1. Alleen wanneer het, een poosje heeft geduurd, meerdere keren is voorgekomen of gewoonte is.
  2. Nadruk ligt op de tijdsduur.
  3. Gevolg van iets dat in het verleden is gebeurd, alleen als het een poosje heeft geduurd, of gewoonte is. (because of so)
