Seven Natural Wonders

LO:  I can recall the seven continents of the world.

I can identify which continent each of the seven natural wonders is in.

What is a continent?

A continent is a large geographical region.   A continent could be a single landmass like Antarctica or have many countries in it, like Europe and Africa.

The 7 Natural Wonders of the world are spread around 6 of the continents.

The Grand Canyon is in

 North America.

North America is made up of 3 countries.

Canada, the United States of America & Mexico.

The Paricutin Volcano is also in North America.

Mount Everest is in Asia.

Asia is the largest continent in the world.  It has very big countries like China and India in it as well as smaller ones like Cambodia and Laos.

The Northern Lights are often seen in Europe.

The United Kingdom is in Europe.

The Great Barrier Reef is in Australia.

Australia is the largest island in the world and has exciting wildlife like kangaroos and koala bears.

Guanabara Bay is in 

South America.

The main language in South America is Spanish but they speak Portuguese in Brazil.

The Victoria Falls are in 

Africa.

Many exciting animals can be found in Africa - including elephants, lions, zebras & giraffes.
