Yesterday = > the day before / the preceding day

Two days ago => Two days before / the preceding days

Last Monday morning => The Monday morning before/ the preceding Monday in the morning

Next week=> the week after / the following week

Three sorts of questions:

Yes/No answers: Do you want tea?
Question word questions: Where? When? How?
Choice questions: Do you prefer tea or coffee?

Asked + if (Or: asked + whether (= more formal))

active: Do you want tea?

reported: She asked if I wanted more tea

How do you turn a short answer into reported speech?

A: Do you like tea? Yes, I do.

R: The waiter asked if I liked tea and I said I did.

A: Will you go out with me tonight? No, I won't.

R: He asked me if I would go out with him that night, but I said I wouldn't

Use the same auxiliary or modal!!
