Defining relative clauses

Non-defining relative clauses

Non-defining relative clauses:  onbelangrijke informatie

• Staan in het midden/einde van de zin
• Begint en eindigt met een komma

The Times, which is published in London, is a daily newspaper.

The Times is a daily newspaper.

Leuke extra regeltjes

• Whom mag alleen gebruikt worden in non-defining relative clauses.
• That  mag nooit gebruikt worden in non-defining relative clauses.
  
• In defining relative clauses kan je which, who of that ook weglaten.
