LEGO brengt duurzame steentjes gemaakt van suikerriet uit. 

LEGO announced sustainable bricks

Volgens het bedrijf is het op suikerriet gebaseerde plastic wat eigenschappen betreft identiek aan de steentjes die nog met conventioneel plastic worden gemaakt. Met de steentjes van suikerriet sluit Lego zich aan bij de Bioplastic Feedstock Alliance van het Wereld Natuur Fonds.
