Hadrian's Wall remained standing for nearly 300 years.

• Hadrian's Wall was a border of the Roman Empire for nearly 300 years. 

In 1987, Hadrian's Wall was named the most famous Roman wall on earth.

Hadrian visited Britain in AD 122 to inspect the wall that had been built in his name.

• The path is 84 miles long, so that would make 135 kilometers.
• The wall is 73 miles long, so 117,5 kilometers.

• 80 Roman miles = 73 miles
• 1 Roman mile = 1.48 km
• 1 mile = 1.61 km
