"Possessive" 's & ' (bezit)

Aan het einde van de les kunnen jullie de possessive nouns (bezittelijk naamwoord) 's en ' correct toepassen in een zin.

Dus weten wanneer je 's en wanneer je alleen ' gebruikt.

Voor jezelf een aantal nieuwe woorden hebben geleerd naar aanleiding van de tekst.

's geeft aan dat iets van iemand is

Bij meervoud gebruik je ' als het zelfstandig naamwoord eindigt op -s

Enkelvoud

Her dress is nice.
My sister's dress is nice.

Dus:    Enkelvouden =  's

Meervoud

Their bikes are new.

My brothers'  bikes are new.

(More than 1 brother + ends in 's' DUS: alleen ' (komma)

These children's books are famous.

bij meervoud die niet op s eindigt, gebruik je 's

Rewrite them with the possessive form.

Possessive Form: The most common use of the apostrophe 's' is to indicate possession or ownership (bezit of eigendom). It is added to a noun (zelfstandig naamwoord) to show that something belongs to someone or something. For example:

The cat's tail (the tail belongs to the cat).

Sarah's book (the book belongs to Sarah).

Plural Possessive: When indicating possession for plural nouns, the apostrophe is placed after the 's.' For example:

The students' textbooks (the textbooks belong to the students).

The teachers' lounge (the lounge used by the teachers).

Uitzondering: Wanneer meervoud niet eindigt op een s (irregular verb) gebruik je 's.
