Grammar Gerund and to-infinitive
1) verb+ing
Often used after: to (dis)like, to love, to miss, to avoid, to learn, to plan, to promise etc.
I like baking cookies.
We avoid travelling during rush hour.
I love eating grilled cheese sandwiches.
2) to +infinitive
After the object in a sentence or after most adjectives.
I asked him to read.
he is happy to help you.
It is wonderful to meet. to meet you.
