First step: Choose a topic:
To make live a bit easier you can select a topic first. What do you find interesting?

Second step: Research your topic
What do you want to know about your chosen topic?

assignment: take 10 minutes to write down everything that springs to mind (wordweb)

Third step: Your research question
This is the hard part because you want to find your answer at the end of your course so it has to be a very good question. Luckily, there are some guidelines to help you out. 
assignment: read guidelines and formulate first draft

Fourth step: Your subquestions
To simplify your research, you divide your main question into small parts called subquestions. They help you to find answers faster and to give you an overview.

Fifth step: How to present your research?
How do you want to show what you've learnt? a few examples:
  • powerpoint, wall poster, quiz or leaflet
  • lesson, play or performance
  • maquette or actual product

Sixth step: Plan your research
Answer the next questions:
How much time do you have and what do you need to do in those hours?
What kind of materials do you need and how many?
Can you do everything yourself or do you need assistance? 

Plan ahead and let your teacher know.

Get started!!!
During the lessons:
  • Inform your teacher of your plans that day and of your progress
  • Keep your workspace workable and clean up when the lesson ends.
  • At the end of every lesson there is a short meeting in which we share what we've learnt during that lesson or some fun facts of your research.

The last lesson is used to prepare for your show-and-tell.
