Violent crime
In a violent crime, a victim is harmed by or threatened with violence.
 
Violent crimes include rape and sexual assault, robbery, assault and murder.

In a property crime, a victim's property is stolen or destroyed, without the use or threat of force against the victim.
 
Examples: burglary and theft as well as vandalism and arson.

Victimless crimes are crimes that do not directly and specifically harm another party. 

Examples: public drinking, trespassing, drug use and traffic violations.

A consensual crime is a public-order crime that involves more than one participant, all of whom give their consent as willing participants in an activity that is unlawful.

Examples: prize fights, euthanasia, possessing a banned book.
