Prepositions of time

Prepostions of time tell you when something is happening:

Use on for days and dates:

My birthday is on 8 October.

I'm having a party on Saturday.

Prepositions of time

Use in for months, years, seasons:

I usually go ice skating in winter.

Christmas is in December.

I was born in 1983.

Prepositions of time

in is also used before parts of the day:

School starts in the morning.

We go home in the afternoon.

My volleyball practice is in the evening.

Exception: I go to bed at night!!!

Use at for specific times and holidays:

I hope I'll get a lot of presents at Christmas!

The concert starts at 8:30.

Prepostions of place tell you where something is happening:

Use on for surfaces:

My books are on my desk.

There's a bottle of wine on the table.

Use on for public transport, roads, streets and rivers:

Get on the bus on Baker Road. 

We booked a boat trip on the river Nile. 

There is a book shop on Churchill Road.
