• Composers create special music that matches what's happening on the screen, like exciting scenes or sad moments. 

• The music helps you feel what the characters are feeling and makes the movie more fun to watch.

How do composers set scenes and portray characters?

• One of the main jobs of a film composer is to create an atmosphere for a scene.
  
• They also need to portray the mood or emotion of the characters in the scene.

Homework 

• Using your ostinato, add two layers of music to your ostinato to vary the texture of your mood piece. 
• One layer should be a melody and the other should be a rhythmic pattern. 
• Both need to be four bars long and have the same time signature as your ostinato
