Je gebruikt de Past Continuous om te zeggen dat iets in het verleden een tijdje aan het gebeuren was

Examples:

I was reading a book yesterday.

We were watching TV this morning.

She was doing the dishes last night.

They were helping her move last Sunday.

Het gaat dus om de VERLEDEN TIJD

WAS/WERE  +  Werkwoord dat eindigt op -ING
