What are syllables?

- Comparative: comparing 2 items

- Superlative: comparing 1 item to all the rest

How does it work?

One syllable:          old / older / the oldest

One syllable ending in vowel+consonant:   sad / sadder / the saddest

One or two syllables, ending in -y:      happy / happier / the happiest

Two or more syllables:      important / more important / the most  important

Irregular:

good / better / the best

bad / worse / the worst
