  • Form small groups of 4 or 5 students.
  • Think of a sport or new game we could play.
  • Think of the tools you need to play it.
  • IS IT SAFE!?!!?!?!?!
  •  The best designed sport(s) or game(s) might be played outside (if the weather allows it).

Inventing a sport
Which questions did they ask you to answer in the video?

The questions to answer:
  1. What is the goal of your sport?
  2. How will you win?
  3. WIll you have points?
  4. Will you take turns?
  5. Will it be timed?
  6. Will you win when you reach a destination? (Like a race.)
  7. How many players?
  8. A team sport or individual?
  9. Or multiple teams at the same time?
  10. Will there be positions? What will players do?
  11. What are the rules?
  12. What kind of field would you need? Indoors or outdoors?
  13. Extra: What materials do you need? Think about rackets, balls, hockey sticks, etc.
  14. SAFETY FIRST. No contact sports, no martial arts, no Scott Sterlings!

That's a lot...
Creating a sport can be difficult.
You're also allowed to use an existing sport as inspiration. 
You don't have to reinvent the wheel. (But it'd be really cool if you could.)

You're also allowed to draw.
A picture can be as good as a thousand words.
Maybe you can draw the field for your sport and explain the sport with a drawing.
Remember: You only have 1 hour to design a game or sport, so don't try to be too fancy with it.
