The creation of 'Wonder'
Raquel Palacio, the author ofWonder, took inspiration for Wonder from an incident in her own life.
She went to an ice cream shop where her son noticed a girl with a facial impairment. The boy cried out of shock. Palacio walked directly out of the shop. The incident made a deep impression on her and moved her to write the book.
