The Present simple: negative sentences and questions

She, he, it = stam werkwoord (infinitive verb) + s 

Spelling rules for present simple:

1. Verbs ending in -ch, -x, -z, - sh, -ss. What is the rule? 

2. Verbs ending in consonant + y (medeklinker + y). What is the rule? (Hurry, study, carry)

3. The irregular verbs 'to go' 'to do' and 'to be'

Helps us make questions and negations (ontkenning) in the present simple.

Uitzondering

We don't use "do" if the sentence contains 'has/have got' or a form of 'to be'

Jane has got blue eyes / Has Jane got blue eyes? / Jane hasn't got blue eyes.

She is 12 / Is she 12? / She isn't 12
