Die jongens, die telkens 10en halen, mogen tijdens de les aan een ander vak werken. 

Wat is: die telkens 10en halen?

Hoe zat het ook alweer?

een relative clause (betrekkelijke bijzin) voegt extra informatie toe aan een zin over iets of iemand. 

Een relative clause begint met een relative pronoun.(betrekkelijk voornaamwoord)

Welke zijn dit?

Relative pronouns

Who  = bij personen

Which =  bij dieren en dingen

That = bij personen, dingen en dieren

Relative pronouns

Soms kan je een relative pronoun ook weglaten omdat het in de zin al duidelijk is om wie of wat het gaat. 

This is the suspect (who) the police arrested yesterday.

Relative pronouns

Soms geeft een bijzin extra informatie die je ook helemaal weg zou kunnen laten. Deze staat tussen komma's.

Franklin, who is my nephew, is younger that I am.

Franklin is younger than I am.

Bij deze zinnen nooit that gebruiken, altijd who & which.

Wanneer geburik je whom?

Soms verandert who naar whom, als er een voorzetsel bij komt. 

(in het Nederlands is dit een meewerkend voorwerp en gebruiken we aan wie of voor wie)

Whose geeft bezit aan. 

Je vertaalt het met:

- van wie

- wiens

- waarvan
