Future simple

* Prediction about the future

* You decide to do something (spontaneous) at the time of speaking

Will+ infinitive

Future continuous

* When you already have decided to do something in the future

* What you think what will happen

to be (am / is / are) + going to + infinitive

Present perfect continous

* action began in the past and has just stopped

* How long the action has been happening 

Signal words: all day, the whole day, how long, since and for

Has/ Have + been + verb-ing

Past perfect simple

* Past before a past

signal words: already, just, never

Had + past participle

He had lived in Amsterdam before moving to India.

Past perfect continuous

* How long something had been happening before something else happend

signal words: How long, since and for.
