Definition of Adverbs

Adverbs are words that modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs. They answer questions such as how, when, where, how often, and to what extent.

Adverbs can be categorized as adverbs of time, place, manner, degree, and frequency.

Read the following sentences and identify the adverb: The cat slept peacefully. She sings beautifully. They are always late.
