Some quick questions!

Let's have a show of hands, who plays videogames regularly?

If so, what do you play?

Let's warm up!

Ever thought of what your PERFECT game that you could play for hours on end looks like?

Imagine that you could design your perfect game, make a quick list of things that would HAVE to be in that game.

Think of things such as:

- What kind of game would it be?

- What genre?

- Would it have a story?

- What would the gameplay be like?

- Who would play it?

What did you think of?

At the end of this lesson...

1. You will be able to explain why someone's actions can be seen as both 'good' and 'bad'.
   
   
2. You will be able to give your opinion in a short written text.

This lesson we'll be working with a game instead of a book or text!

Let's see what this game is all about!

We are going to watch a short clip from the start of Shadow of the Colossus. 

While watching, write down what you see, hear and/or feel about:

- the world

- the characters

- the music

You can write down whatever comes to mind first.

Together we'll watch the next part of the intro. Here are a few questions that I'd like you to answer while you're watching:

1. Who do you the main-character is?

2. Where is he going/where is he?

3. Who is the girl that he’s carrying? What is up with her?

4. What do you think the main character is trying to do?

Now that we have a slight idea of what is going on, what do you think YOU (as the player) do in this game?

Example: 'I think that the main character has to look for a certain object to save the girl.'

Write down your prediction (voorspelling) in your notes.

On the next slide you'll find a short clip of 'gameplay'. Watch this video and check if your prediction was correct.

Before we do that though, what is gameplay?

3. Would you do the same to save someone? What would you do different?
4. What do your group-members think about your view?

In a short paragraph of 75-100 words, write down whether or not you think 'the end justifies the means'. In other words, do you think Wander's actions are good, bad or perhaps both?
