Creative Writing prep

During this class you will practise writing a short story in English.

Prompt: The Best Day Ever

Imagine you are writing about your favourite day of the week or a day that was so fun you wished it never ended. Tell us all the funny and exciting things that happened!

Here are some ideas to include:

1. What day is it, and why is it the best (or the funniest)?

2. What crazy, silly, or fun things do you usually do on this day?

3. Did anything surprising or strange happen? (Did your dog steal your pizza? Did you accidentally put your shirt on backwards?)

4. Who was with you, and how did they make the day better (or funnier)?

Use simple sentences and connect your ideas with words like AND, BUT BECAUSE, SO, THEN, et cetera. Write about 150–200 words.

Make it fun, creative, and full of smiles! 😊

8. "One day, I had so much fun that I wished the day would never end."

9. "If I could live one day over and over, it would be this one because it was perfect."

Example Beginning:

"My favourite day is Saturday because I always do something fun and exciting. Last Saturday, I tried to cook pancakes for breakfast, but I burned them so badly that my kitchen smelled like a campfire! My little brother said, ‘Yum, charcoal pancakes!’ and we laughed so much..."
