Verbs that are usually only used in the present simple:
Verbs of thinking and opinions: believe, think, understand, suppose, expect, agree, doubt, know, agree, look, remember, forget, promise, mean, imagine, deserve, guess.
Verbs of emotions: like, love, hate, care, hope, wish, want, prefer etc.

Use of "have" and "have got"?
1. Have and have got mean the same. Have got is more informal. We use it a lot when we speak but not so much when we write. 

2.Have and have got express possession: I have a new car / I've got a new car

3. When have + noun expresses an activity or habit have (not have got) is used: I have a shower every day NOT I've got a shower every day

I have (got) = I've (got)
She/he/it  has (got) = She's/ he's /it's (got)
They/we have (got) = they've/we've (got)

Negative forms of the shortened forms
I have not (got)= I haven't (got)
She/he/it has not (got) = She hasn't/ he hasn't /it hasn't (got)
They/we/you have not (got) = they haven't  /we haven't / you haven't (got)
