5) Present perfect

Something has started in the past and hasn't finished yet.

Words to look for: for, yet, never, ever, just, already, since/still.

6) Past simple

Something was definitely in the past.

Look for words: yesterday, last night, last year, in 2005. 

Use did for questions and didn't for negations & infinitive.

Never twice a past tense!

7) future: will

Something that will happen in the (near) future.

While they _____________ a picnic, it ____________ to hail. (have, start)
