• Students understand the impact of meat-consumption on the climate and the environment
• Students know that different kinds of meat have different kinds of impact
• Students can name 5 sources of protein other than meat
• Students can list reasons why people choose to eat or not eat meat

Portfolio-assignment (your pick):

Option 1: Your home situation (report)

Option 2: Environmental impact (video)

Option 3: Challenge (digital report)

Option 4: Promotion material

Option 5: Meatless meal (food vlog)

Option 1

What is the situation in your household? Write a report (in Word or in any other (digital) way). Focus on: sustainability, food habits, changes you would like to make, and the consequences of all the above. 

Option 2

Make a video in which you discuss/show the environmental impact of the meat industry. Also explicitly focus on what you would do to improve the industry. What can you do? Why and how would you do this?

Option 3

Take the challenge and stop eating meat for at least 4 days. What does this do to you? Show this in a (digital) presentation. Explicitly focus on your motivation and on how you plan to continue this (or not). 

Option 4

Design promotional material (e.g. a poster of a video) for the Week zonder Vlees. Research the website first, so that you can really connect to their mission. Also clearly show what you personally find important about this campaign.

 

Verantwoording

Option 5

Come up with a Meatless Meal. Condition: it has to contain all essential amino acids (see the website). Cook your recipe, and make a food vlog.
