What are pitfalls?

• Pitfalls are words that are often used wrongly in writing or speaking. 
• Sometimes they're words that sound the same.

Pitfall 1: Your - You're

• Your = possesive (bezit) - This is your bag
• You're = contraction of you + are - You're a girl. 

Pitfall 1: Its - It's 

• Its = possesive (bezit) - Its fur was very long.
• It's = contraction of it + is - Congradulations! It's a girl.

Pitfall 1: Whose - Who's

• Whose = possesive (bezit) - Whose bag is that?
• Who's = contraction of who is - Who's that girl?

Pitfall 1: Their - They're

• Their = possesive (bezit) - Their house is so clean. 
• They're = contraction of They are - They're going to the movies today.

Pitfall 2: to vs too

• to = preposition (voorzetsel) - I am going to the movies. 
  
• too = ook of te - I love you too./ This is too much.

• then =  when something is happening (tijd)
  And then the girl ran away. 
• than = comparisons (vergelijkingen) 
  You are taller than her.

• Less = we use for things we can't count - I have less money than you. 
• Fewer = we use for things we can count - She has fewer toys than me.
