Slide 4 - Tekstslide

Heat and temperature
- Temperature is the speed of a molecule at micro level
- Temperature does not depend on the amount of molecules moving
- Heat is the total energy gained from the movement of multiple molecules at micro level
At the macro scale the difference between heat and temperature is the amount of substance involved.

Slide 5 - Tekstslide

Specific Heat
This is the amount of energy that is needed to heat one kilogram of material by 1 degree.

Slide 6 - Tekstslide

Read paragraph 5.1
And do the even exercises.

Slide 7 - Tekstslide

What can heat be used for?

Slide 8 - Open vraag

Energy types

Heat is one of the types of energy, some of the others are:
Kinetic energy (movement)
Chemical energy
Electricity

Slide 9 - Tekstslide

Give an example how you can get heat from kinetic (movement) energy

Slide 10 - Open vraag

Give an example how you can get heat from chemical energy

Slide 11 - Open vraag

Give an example how you can get heat from electrical energy

Slide 12 - Open vraag

Give an example how you can get kinetic energy from heat

Slide 13 - Open vraag

Give an example how you can get electrical energy from kinetic energy

Slide 14 - Open vraag

Energy is never lost
Energy can be changed from one type to another
Energy is never lost, it can however become a type of energy which is not useful to the user (ex. a lightbulb becoming hot instead of using all of the energy only to send out light)
Some energy conversions are easier then others. It is relatively easy to convert other types of energy into heat.
