To make the /θ/ sound:

  1. Place the tip of your tongue between your upper and lower teeth. 
  2. Push air out of your mouth between your tongue and your teeth. 
  3. You should feel some friction (resistance). 
  4. Do not vibrate your vocal cords.

To make the /ŋ/ sound:

  1. Lift the back of your tongue (like you’re making a “k” sound) and place it against the soft palate at the back of your mouth.
  2. Vibrate your vocal cords. 
  3. Do not let any air leave through your mouth; it should all leave through your nose.

Elocution is a way to help people speak more clearly and improve how they pronounce words.

Tongue twisters are an easy way to practise speaking clearly and improving your pronunciation (saying words correctly). They are also used to train your voice.
