Erosion :

Materials like rocks and sand
wear away the sides of the river.
The riverbanks will slowly break
down and shape the landscape.

Rocks, boulders, and
other loose materials like 
sand are carried away
by river water

 Deposition :

River water drops gravel, mud, clay or sand. The lighter the material, the further it will be dropped. As a result, banks will be build up.
