Present simple (tegenwoordige tijd)

You use the present simple if you want to talk about facts (feiten) and habits (gewoontes).

I walk to the bus stop every Monday.

We always cycle to school.

She listens to pop music.

SHIT-regel

You add -s to the verb (werkwoord) after he, she, and it.

He reads a book.

She calls her uncle.

It feels like home.

You add -es if the verb ends in -s, -x, -z, -ch or -sh after he, she, and it.

  

She never catches the ball.

You add -es to do and go after he, she, and it.

 

He does his best.

She goes to school.

consonant (medeklinker) + -y at the end of a verb: -y becomes -ies after he, she, and it.
