How to do an interview?

At the end of this lesson...

You will be able to formulate questions correctly using wh-words.

You will be able to gather information about someone's expertise.

You will be able to report on the information you found.

Which Wh-words do you know?

Which languages do you speak at home?

Experts

a person who is very knowledgeable about or skilful in a particular area.

Think of an area that you are an expert in and tell it to the person next to you.

Interviews

Interviews are often done with experts in a particular area.

Create at least 5 questions using different WH-words to ask your partner about their expertise. 

Include the past simple in your questions. Write them down.

who / what / where / why / which / how / when

Interview the expert

Interview the person next to you about their expertise.

Use the questions that you made before.

Write down their answers.

Switch after the 5 minutes are over.

Report what you found

Tell your new partner who you interviewed and what their expertise is.

Tell them about the questions you asked and the answers the expert gave you.

Make sure that your new partner now has an idea of what the expert you interviewed told you.
