Find the adjective and turn it into an adverb where needed.
1. She sings beautiful in the school concert.
2. The car drove quick down the street.
3. He is a careful driver, always checking his mirrors.
4. My dog runs fast.
5. She was feeling happy after receiving the good news.
6. The teacher explained the lesson clear to the students.
7. This is a bad movie.
8. The sun was shining bright this morning.
9. She looked angry when she heard the news.
10. the flowers smelled amazing this morning.

Adverbs describe HOW
  • An adverb describes a verb:
The man walks slowly. 
  • An adverb describes an adjective:
That is an extremely slow walk.
  • An adverb describes an other adverb:
The man walks extremely slowly.

MIND YOU:
With the 'senses' we often use the adjective.

Ask yourself: 
Is the subject 'doing' the action itself???
e.g. 
'This hamburger tastes well' 
--> suggests that the hamburger is tasting something.
This hamburger tastes good!

Past simple vs. past perfect

past simple
Regular verbs -> verb+ed.                    walk->walked
Irregular verbs -> 3rd form                   eat->ate                   

Is used when something happened in the past and is finished:
TIP: Look for a time indication in the past

"My dad and I watched football last Sunday."
"I drank some milk this morning."

Past perfect
regalar verbs ->       had + verb-ed                              I had walked
Irregular verbs->     had + 3rd form                            I had eaten

When something happened before another event in the past.

"When he arrived at the train station the train had left."
"I had lost my bike key so I decided to walk home."

    Past simple vs. present perfect

Present Perfect
Is used when something happened in the past and is:
1. still going on
2. still relevant
3. experience 
I've played football since I was 8 years old.
Look outside! It has just rained.
My dad has flown in a helicopter once.
(without specific time indication)
