Open the attachement above and study the map Jordaan carrefully. Start your Street Art tour for example @Marnixstraat 127. There you will find the GO Gallery in the famous Amsterdam Jordaan district, known for its typical Amsterdam residents. In the small gallery you will find exhibitions of both internationally known and only regionally active artists.

2. Folksingers of the "Jordaan"

Johnny Jordaanplein is an unofficial square on the corner of Elandsgracht and Prinsengracht.
The idea to create a Johnny Jordaanplein came up after the death of the famous singer Johnny Jordaan - a typically Amsterdam 'Jordanese' folk singer. Money was raised to erect a statue for him, and after the statue was unveiled (in 1991), it was decided that the square would be named Johnny Jordaanplein (but this is not an official name by the City of Amsterdam).
Nowadays there are 5 statues of Jordaan singers located on Johnny Jordaanplein: Johnny Jordaan, Tante Leen, Johnny Meyer, Manke Nelis and Jan & Mien.
In 2013 the city decided to remove the electricity utility building, which is covered with Jordaan-themed mural paintings, and reduce the number of parking places on Elandsgracht - to the disappointment of the residents.
Johnny Jordaanplein, however, will remain, and also the statues of the Jordaan singers
