Writing rules

• No abbreviations (samenvoegsels) -> don't, can't, it's
• No slang -> wanna, gonna, shoulda
• Use paragraphs & the given lay-out
• You write i in a capital letter -> I like puppies

 

Zo kun je iemand de groeten te doen

    Hartelijke groeten

2. Give my regards to your family

3. Give my best wishes to your wife

How do I study this? 

• You can study the lay-out. 
• You can study standard sentences. 

• You can practice writing by writing short pieces and getting them checked. 
• Pay close attention to the examples, do you see a pattern? 

What do I put in the paragraphs? 

Paragraph 1: Greet the other, ask how they are, explain the reason of writing 

Paragraph 2: Include the main requirements in this part

Paragraph 3: Share your hopes/wishes for the other person, include requirements you haven't included yet.

Je pen vriend/vriendin out Schotland komt een weekje langs in de zomer en jullie gaan een dagje naar de Efteling! 

• Deel het blije nieuws met je vriend/vriendin 
• Vertel wat de Efteling is en wat de leukste attractie is en waarom 
• Leg uit dat jullie met de trein naar Brabant gaan maar met de auto worden opgehaald
