Many high mountains, rocky ground and islands
Not much fertile ground to do agriculture
Sometimes it was needed to get food from somewhere else
Colonies
were built to solve this problem

Soms was het nodig om voedsel ergens anders vandaan te halen

Ancient Greece was not one united state like Egypt was
It were multiple
City States (Polis - Poleis)
Cities with their own government, coin and army
Many differences - but also many similarities

Steden met hun eigen overheid, munteenheid en leger
Veel verschillen, maar ook veel overeenkomsten
