When do we use the  

"Present Perfect Continuous"?

• 1- The action started in the past. The action is still happening in the present.

• They have been hiking for hours.

Then what is the difference?

The Difference between "the Present Perfect"and "the Present Perfect Continuous": 

• In the "Present Perfect Continuous" the emphasis is on the duration. 

When do we use "the Present Perfect Continuous"? 

• 2- When we talk about the present result of a continuous action in the past (most of the time it shows irritation)
