Today's Lesson
Goal: you will be able to make a poster of a British folk tale or legend, and you are able to use the grammatica that you have worked with in the last two chapters to make sentences for that poster.

  • UK Folk tales and Legends: Explanation + Rules
  • The assignment: work on making a poster or power point presentation

Folk Tales and Legends
Every country in the UK has its own folk tales and legends. Have a look at the following four folk tales from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

England: Stonehenge
Scotland: Loch Ness monster
Wales: Gelert the Dog
Ireland: Leprechauns

Choose the one that appeals to you most and look at the questions that go with your choice. Make a collage, either digital (using Prezi, for instance) or on a large piece of cardboard. Gather information on the folk tale online by using a search machine. Don’t forget to include photos, pictures or drawings. Use the questions to help you get started.

Individual assignment for a grade (this is your chance to improve your grade for English)
