Navigating the Internet

What are hypertext and hyperlinks?

1. Hyperactive text that are dynamic and move around.
2. Hyperlinks link ideas together that make you hyper.
3. They are the “glue” that holds the Web together. This feature allows files on the Web to be linked so you can jump easily between them.
4. Text and links that have hypersensitive information.

How do you navigate the Web?

1. By entering the address or URL of the website in your web browser, or by clicking links.
2. With a compass.
3. By looking up keywords.

Why do links change color? What do the colors mean?

1. Each color signifies the mood of the message found.
2. Hypertext words that appear in a different color than previously often indicate that you’ve already clicked that link.
3. Blue means it is an active hyperlink, purple means you should not click on it again.
4. Hyperlinks indicate sites that might be dangerous to visit.

How do you return to a page you have already visited?
