Step 1 - begin van de zin

Begin de zin met bijvoorbeeld 'he said (that)....' 'they asked if.....'

'Do you like the beach?'

He asked if I liked the beach.

Step 2 - juiste tijd

 'Jenny looks tired'                      He said that Jenny looked tired

'We are working on it'                The man said that they were working on it

'I saw you there'                            She said that she had seen me there

'Have you ever met them?'       He asked if I had ever met them

Kijk goed welke vorm het is en maak daar de verleden tijd van (past simple, past continuous of past perfect)

Step 3 - verander verwijzingen

Chris: 'I was at a party last night'

Chris said that he had been at a party the night before

Direct -> indirect

3 stappen:

1. begin van de zin ( he said that.... / she asked if...)

2. verander de werkwoordstijd naar de juiste verleden vorm

3. verander verwijzingen (tomorrow, yesterday, etc)

1. Mom: 'we are leaving in 5 minutes'

2. SpongeBob: 'Patrick is my best friend!'

3. Alex: 'we have been doing this for hours'

4. sister: 'I am going to watch that movie tomorrow'
