Describing a picture

Individual study - read and summarize articles

Goals:

1. I have watched two videos about speaking skills

2. I can describe pictures in English- work in pairs

3. I can made summaries about the speaking articles

Look at the following pictures and describe the picture. 

Work in pairs

Take turns

What do you see in the pictures?

Ask your neighbour classmate questions about the pictures. Describe objects: shape, colours, persons, materials, etc. 

E.g. "In this picture I see a man with yellow hair. He looks like ...., He is standing next to....... , etc. 

Task: write a summary

* Read article 3: "Why aren't we eating more insects?"

* write a summary in your own words in English

* you get time to do this in class now, so use your time!!

How to write a summary?

Use the following tools and write in YOUR OWN WORDS IN ENGLISH.

- Underline the main ideas in the article

- Look up difficult words

- What is the article about?

- Who are the persons mentioned in the article?

- Where does it take place?

- When does it take place?

- How does the author want to convince us?

- Write your own opinion about the article. What do you think of the article?
