Virtual Tour Project

What should be included in a virtual tour?

Examples:

The viewer is able to experience what it is like to be somewhere they are actually not.

- walkthrough of the space

- audio

- interactive visuals

- behind-the-scenes 

- a clear call to action

- show off the surrounding area

- appeals to the audience

What are the advantages of a virtual tour (why do you need it)?

Examples:

- It saves your clients a lot of time

- The visual information contributes a great deal to attracting more visitors
- Reach a broader market

- Effective marketing strategy

- Tour is available 24/7

With the pandemic keeping borders closed and people in their homes, people turn to virtual tours to explore spaces before they visit or buy.

The Virtual Tour Project

• Groups of 4 people (or 3)
• Part 1 = Written document about Zaanse Schans
• Part 2 = Virtual tour (film) of the Zaanse Schans

Goals

• You can give an introduction of a tourist destination and describe its history using the past simple, past continuous and present perfect.
  

• You can describe the facilities of a tourist destination using the present simple.

• You can describe the plans for the future of a tourist destination using the future tenses.

An overview of the content:

1. Introduction of the Zaanse Schans including its history in general (150 words per person)
   
2. Description of (this is more specific): (250 words per person)
   - a shop
   - a restaurant/café
   - a handicraft/workshop
   - a windmill
   
3. Plans for the future of the Zaanse Schans (150 words per person)
4. Script for virtual tour

DEADLINE writing and video:  Thursday, 18th of April 2023 at 20:00
